As every and each respectable Fashion-addict, I started following this season with the Paris Couture Fashion Week.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure to pass on Alexis Mabille, Christian Dior and THE new star Alexandre Vauthier! But what you REALLY wait from couture...let's not lie to ourselves...DREAM DREAM DREAM!!!

This is exactly why I was hoping to find in Chanel Couture catwalk this season: My princess dress!

So I wore my pearl earings, sat in front of my computer and opened Chanel on style.com. The words stayed blocked... was this the worst defile in Chanel's history?

By looking closer, I could not choose what was the most horrid:

the glitter 80's pants...that Karl found one night in Regine's toilets?

the Indian version of the Chanel suit?

Or Grandma's wedding dress??...

I hope my chouchou Maxime Simoens will help me to recover from this Chanel-fashion-depression...

Man or (Wo)Man? : the new criterias for beauty

The whole 'normal world' is always making comments on the influence of fashion on the new criterias of beauty.

The models used in campaigns and defiles are every year younger and thinner. Is it a result of the influence of Fashion on society or society on Fashion??...this is still a mystery!

The reality is that most of the agencies DO impose the weight to girls but most of the brands DO NOT wish to make skeletons catwalk with their outfits.

Let's get out of the PATH and let's deal with the new generation of models and icons...

Last week, over a business diner far far away from Paris we were discussing about the Fashion world favorite subject since one week: who is gonna take the head of Vogue France?

My dear fashion-gossiper friend explained me the 'what, why, when' of what REALLY happened to Carine and we started to fantasize on the next Queen to take over the throne...

As we were enjoying wine and gossips, we started talking about Emmanuelle- Fashion Editor of Vogue and ex head of MIXTE magazine - and we ALL knew she was already seen her as the ONE!

Also known as the men who creates animal-woman, Cavalli remains a figure of Italian scene and especially with his famous prints -leopardskin, zebra, hindu godess,...- with which he created several chocks and scandals all around the fashion world.

To celebrate his 70th birthday and his 40 years in fashion, Roberto Cavalli is exposing a collection of his pictures at the Palazzo Morando in Milan.

Not the most original idea but certainly a MUST to see; the exhibition is untitled 'Black is never absolute' as a reference to the rainbow of colours Oldy-Goody Roberto is using in each of his collection but also because he does believe his designs make life 'less boring'.

Full of his Italian modesty - as always-,Cavalli declared to the press that 'the greatest designer is god' and that he loves to inspire himself from him.

By the way, even Cavalli has been a good designer in his golden years...common 70 years old Roberto, botox wont save you!

You would never believe I would talk finance, stock shares & takeover bids; would you?

But when it's about fashion, there is no subject to be avoided and especially not when the protagonists are the timeless Maison Hermes & the giant LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Dior, Moet & Chandon,...).

Last saturday, Mr Arnault announced that LVMH bought 17% of Hermes stock shares; insisting that he does not pretend to a hostile takeover but that he simply wanted to become a "friendly" long-term shareholder.

BIG SHOCK inside HERMES House where they never believed the danger to be that close.

Nowadays Hermes, Chanel & PPR Group (Gucci Group) are the biggest competitors of the LVMH Holding on the luxury market. Having the opportunity to takeover Hermes will be A MUST for Bernard Armault and an extra "jewel" for his group.

This morning, more than 600 journalists, bloggers & fashion officials received a "anonymous" letter that will give gossips to the fashion world for weeks to come untitled: "ANDAM, what a SHAME!"

In this letter, Carine Roitfeld -aka Vogue France editor in chief- is directly accused of screwing the results of ANDAM contest puting Hakaan Yildim winner...in exchange of a VEEEEERY nice sum of money.

To be true - and regarding the contest rules - Hakaan wouldnt have been able to participate without any help from a part: he had only presented 1 collection (2 in the rules) and is not really settled in London (but in Istanbul)...

Moreover we already rrealized she participated to his catwalk last season in London - very unusual move from the "Devil wears Dior" which is NEVER participating to young designers's presentation .

More than this, the writer put on trial the whole "Fashion Mafia" that prefers to think about their personal needs than to the real core of fashion: finding the new artists and helping them to go to the top ( cf: Gareth Pugh or Martin Margiela // previous winners of ANDAM).

Anywayyysss Hakaan finally won around 220 000€ with which he will be now able to... give the half to our dearest Carine for her next Hermes white croco bag :)

One question on my lips tho, Carine will -of course- be cleared from any suspiction but what will happen to Hakaan in the nasty nasty world of fashion?!

Certainly my favorite catwalk from the week so far; Galliano totally AMAZED me with his concept for Fall 2010.

Not usually a big fan for John-John's extra-exagerated mise en scenes, I literally fell in love with this couture collection.

As only Monsieur Christian Dior could have done, Galliano created a collection around woman's feminity and freshness by changing them into flowers.

Colours, fabrics, volumes, everything is perfectly melted and balanced to charm our fashionista-hearts.

For once you'll hear me say Johnny I love you - can you make me the same haircut??

For the first time So Chic & Famous will talk about men fashion! But if you just take a look at Galliano last catwalk you can only LOVE it!

The master of fashion mise en scene inspired himself from Charlie Chaplin & his silent masterpiece: Modern Times.

Eclectic//Electric music, crowd screaming as in a rock concert, a huge clock in the backgroud; the models come up wearing extra large stiped pants, gentlemen "cire" shoes and Charlie's mustache! Even tho we find some inspirations from Pugh in the white make-up & the black lipstick - plus John's usual little gay touch; Galliano pops up with an amazing show again!

After the sucess of Sherlock Holmes & the return of British old cars (eg: mini, aston,...),we should believe that our modern-men fashion is taking the way back to the 20's??

We were waiting for it...hours were passing and still no news... and finally the news came up : Hakan Yildirim won the ANDAM young designers contest!!!!!

220 000€ to built up a catwalk for October Paris Fashion Week & the prestige to have been chosen among hundreds of designers from all around the world...that what HY won last night.

Directed by Carine Rotfield & the Chamber of Haute Couture in Paris, this contest is the one that discovered and awarded Gareth Pugh in 2008; got it?!

After London in March, Hakan Yildirim will make us the pleasure of showing himself on the French scene...where Fashion is & Fashion starts...

Unfortunatly he will present Hakaan collection and not his AMAZING couture line...Let's see if he will react as any previous Turkish designer such as Chalayan, Bora Aksu or Dice Kayek & dissapear from the Turkish Fashion scene to settle abroad...or if he'll be proud enought to stay here & prouve for once that Turkish Design ROCKS!!!

Everyone talked about Avatar, the amazing effects of 3D and those UGLY-ever glasses... but no one ever told it will be fashionnable?!

Burberry did it!

The brand has been going out of its golden cage for the last 2 seasons with a new icon, younger models, new rock'n roll trench coats and a collaboration with Colette...but it is not Burberry last word! The brand decided to go further for London Fashion Week with...a 3 dimensions catwalk!!

The brand will be showing its catwalk at the same time in 5 different cities in the world in 3D: NY, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo and LA where some special installations will be built up!

One month out of the blog seems a loooong time but you all have to know i was preparing this big event called: Istanbul Fashion Week.

Sorry not to have been able to make a story while I was dealing with models, VIP lists and show-show-showsssss but here it is.

Istanbul is the European Capital of Culture for 2010 SURE but also the city launches its second edition of Istanbul Fashion Week!! The goal is to make the city one of the Fashion Capitals before 2023 - date of the Republique century.

This new edition was not only better that the previous one but gave everyone the clues of Istanbul Fashion potential inside and outside the catwalk areas.

Santral Istanbul - ancient electric central that used to distribute electricity to all the city- was the place to be from 3rd to 6th February with 15 catwalks, 4 parties, 20 booths, 200 press editors and buyers from all around the world and more than 20.000 visitors...IFW was more glitters, stilletos and lipstick than Istanbul has ever seen in one place.

Appart from the organisation I could have picked few names for you that would be -in the future- revelent not only for Turkish Fashion scene but also for International market...

For the new SLS car's advertising campain,Mercedes-Benz choose the famous photographer Nick Knight, the sexy model Julia Stegner & Gareth Pugh to give a Futurist image to the brand.

We made ourselfs used to Mr Pugh designs -a mix of neo-80's futurism and japanease videogames uniforms- and we already know HE is the future master!

Far from Futurism, our Favorite designer of the year Gareth Pugh transformed this advertising into a piece of art with a plexi AMAZING combi...

To begin the New Year 2010 the city of Dubai found nothing more exciting than inaugurating the highest tower in the world: Burj Dubai - 828 meters of steel and glass.

Even if the city of the 1000 wonders -or should I say 1000 malls?restaurants?clubs?- got bankrupt this last year, they will never let themselfs drown.

Thanks to its lovely neighbours Abu Dhabi that let them 1.5 billions Dollars to construct this new tower; one more symbol that Dubai is ready to go TOO far at any price.

Far form the Trendy city it used to be with the next projects of 1000 meters towers, Dubailand Park and new fake Paradize islands; Dubai might be turning into the biggest Disneyland ever...

WWF decided to ask some help to find funds for United nation organization NGO and here comes Bob Lagerfeld!!

Karl lagerfeld and Spong Bob collaborated on creating a doll half sponge, half trendy - with its black sunglasses, leather gloves and thin tie. The doll was sold on an auction last week end for not less than 10 000€!!!

The event was a huge success and permit WWF to rise 7 000€ fom humanitarian help all around the world.

As every year, the famous French department stores le Printemps & les Galeries Lafayette organize a grand opening for their Christmas windows – a real even for all!

This year the two giants had the same idea to mix fashion to Santa and did it well On the 12th November, Karl Lagerfeld & Natalia Vodianova lighted the windows for Le Printemps. The artistic director of Chanel created a mise en scene around a Coco Chanel doll in a fairy world. The chic Dior House also contributed to some of the X-Mas windows melting fashion and toys in a cosmic world.

Les Galleries Lafayette Store preferred to play on a « Gourmand Christmas », putting some macaroons & cupcakes under the tree.
Internationally well-known designers –such as Kenzo, Jean Paul Gauthier & Marc by Marc- created windows full of chocolate, bunnies, gingerbread dolls and luxury clothes.

Her all Givenchy wardrobe, designed by Hubert De Givenchy himself - as they were very good friends, will be sold such as the small black cocktail dress from "How to still a million dollars"which will start at 30.000 dollars.

When Karl Lagerfeld & Zaha Hadid meet, Fashion & Arts merge.

The famous futurist architect was called by Mr Chanel to create an Art Container or should we say CHANEL MOBILE ART house. The concept is to brings fashion & arts together in a box that will travel all around the world, to share its content and what box!

On the 10th November, in the corner of Avenue Montaigne & Champs Elysées, a light green aligator Birkin HERMES bag who used to belong to Naomie Campbell was sold for not less than 21 000€.

This bag is one of the pieces from the HERMES VINTAGE annual auction that takes place in ARTCURIAL quarters in Paris and the funds will be given to "The white Ribbon Alliance" Association to fight against mother & child birth mortality.

For few years, the prestigious French House - that never makes mistakes- organised those auctions selling its best "vintage" pieces: a good way to make a buzz by selling all it's stocks and look over-the-edge because...everyone dreams about a vintage Kelly bag!

Among the pieces, you could find a Hermes Bike starting 700€, some JeaggerLeCoultre for Hermes watches starting at 500 € or a bound of Kelly bags - you don't have to queue for!.

The last sales summed 725 000€ which is a nice shot for selling GrandMa's old clocks & gloves... but who wouldn't have LOVED to be there and got the last word on this amazing LOT 264 Blolide Vintage bag??.

Until the next auction, let's wish that one day we will walk in the streets feeling like Grace and Jane!...

In the world of Fashion, gossips & rumors are the best cards to play and certainly the most dangerous.This one is to be confirmed very soon and might interrest every gossip, fashion, trendy, crazy & poshy girl.

Everyone knows that Karl - God of Chicness & M.Jackson gloves - will soon have to leave our beloved Chanel House. Of course, Mr Poudered-hair has been the one who saved the house and brang it back to life; and might never really got out of it- but it is time to think about a new pretender to the Chanel Throne.

If we pass throught the list of potential "good" designers...

Tom Ford - too much provocation - would you ever imagine Mrs Chanel in a porte-jartelle posing in a very unsuitable position?

Heidi Slimane - too much drugs - ok he is the 2nd king of Black & White but let us avoid Kate Moss sniffing cok***e on a background of love story & Tour Eiffel.

Marc Jacobs - Too much "Love in America" - the designer for LV is certainly the less "Frenchy" one and would then never fit the job -love you MJ

Any other option? As I was told from an intern source and an external one XoXo the winner is.... Albert Elbaz!!

Frenchy, chic and perfectionnist, he is not only the perfect fit but is definitly the best designer the world has known this last years. The question is who will save Lanvin??
